1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL Fastback | |||
---|---|---|---|
The transformation begins on Mike Mayberry's 1964 Galaxie Fastback. Inspired by a trip to the 2015 SEMA show, Mike wanted to build a big Ford that can handle and perform at the highest level of today's modern vehicles, while still maintaining all of the classic styling off the early sixties. The foundation for this build begins with a custom spec chassis from Art Morrison Enterprises that includes their Multilink IRS pachage. This chassis will allow the injected 527ci Shelby "side-oiler" and Magnum XL 6-speed to live up to their maximum potential.
Tavis Highlander of Highlander Concepts was able to capture Mike's vision on paper with
one of his detailed renderings, which will help us sculpt the many needed sheet
metal modifications on this build.
We look forward to using the many custom-machined products built by Clay Cook of C.Cook
Enterprises. Francis Minaglia of Minaglia's Upholstery will be hand-crafting an interior
that will complement all the factory bright work on this classic Ford.
We are all excited about this project and are looking forward to the many challenges of building such a special vehicle.
Stay tuned for photos and updates as we make progress during the construction of this 1964 Galaxie Fastback.
